Panna National Park Tiger Safari from Khajuraho

Visited Panna National Park and, although we couldn’t spot a tiger, the beautiful forest and wildlife experience were wonderful. Our guide was very knowledgeable and explained the flora, fauna, and surroundings in great detail. Overall, a peaceful and enjoyable safari experience

Planning a trip to Panna with my super-senior parents, aged 76 and 72, came with a few concerns. My dad has severe back issues, so I wasn’t sure whether a safari would be comfortable for him, especially with the April heat.

That’s where Anil.⁸ experience really helped. He reassured us that late April can actually be a good time for tiger sightings, as the vegetation is thinner, and carefully planned everything around my parents’ needs. He selected the gates and timings for us, with two morning safaris, and arranged a comfortable Innova Crysta from our home in Jabalpur to Panna and back.

Since my father needed us to travel slowly, we had the entire safari vehicle to ourselves, which made a huge difference. The weather also turned out to be surprisingly pleasant.

And the sightings were simply incredible. We saw 5 tigers on the first day and 3 on the second, with four of them coming remarkably close. It was an unforgettable experience, and we truly felt blessed.

Mukeshji also suggested several accommodation options, and we chose Ken River Lodge. The location by the river is beautiful, the staff is warm and helpful, and the property has a lovely rustic jungle atmosphere. However, the electrical infrastructure needs improvement. We were without AC for much of the first and second day, which was difficult considering the April temperatures and made it harder to rest comfortably.

One small point regarding the transport: the driver who took us from Jabalpur to Panna, who was Mukeshji’s own company driver, was excellent. Unfortunately, the driver arranged through a third party for our return journey was not up to the same standard.

Overall, we had a wonderful Panna experience, largely because Mukeshji understood our requirements and planned the safari accordingly. I would happily recommend his services to anyone planning a wildlife trip to Pench, Kanha, Bandhavgarh, Panna, or other national parks in Madhya Pradesh.
